STIPE MALBASA It is with deep sadness the family announces the passing of Stipe Malbasa, aged 53 years on June 3, 2004 at his residence. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife Marija; children, Ana and Marko; his mother Ana in Croatia; brothers, Branko (Anka) and Brne (Jagoda) and sister Darja (Dennis) Durupt; nieces, Robin and Petra; nephews, Matko and Christopher and many other relatives in Canada and Croatia. Stipe was predeceased by his father Mate in 1999. Stipe was born in Croatia and came to Canada in 1990. He was an electrical engineer by trade. He was a wonderful husband and father. He enjoyed watching his son participate in soccer and he avidly supported all sports, especially the Croatian teams. He was an active participant of the St. Nicolas Parish Council and the Croatian Folklore Ensemble, and a registered member of APEGM. The family would like to thank Dr. Johnston and all the nurses at CancerCare Manitoba, with special thanks to the Stipe Pesun family for all their care and compassion. Prayers will be held on Friday, June 4 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, June 5 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Nicolas Tavelich Croatian Roman Catholic Church, 2688 Main St. Interment will take place in Croatia.
